How to play Relic SMP

swordsRelics, the heart of the server

Relics are legendary weapons and tools with abilities no normal item has. Most of them exist only once on the whole server, so owning one means everyone knows your name.

• check_circle Relics are forged, not found. Kill the right mob or break the right block to collect shards, craft shards into a core, then bring the core, the other ingredients and the RC cost to a relic altar.
• check_circle Use /shrine to find the nearest shrine, /relicguide for the full guide book, and /recipes to browse every recipe.
• check_circle Forging costs RC as well as items: 500,000 RC for most relics, 250,000 RC for the Verdant Aegis and 200,000 RC for the Phoenix Heart.
• check_circle Relics must stay in your inventory: they cannot go in chests, shulkers or bundles, and they do not burn or despawn. Most are capped at one copy on the server.
• check_circle There are fifteen relics, including King's Edge, Veilblade, Wraith Bow, Storm Spear, Sunpiercer, Soul Reaper, Frostbite Fang, Venom Fang and the Demonic Axe. The Relics page shows what each one does and how to get it.

tollMoney: Relic Coins (RC)

RC is the server currency. Everything from relics to homes to factions is paid for with it.

• check_circle /bal shows your balance and /pay <player> <amount> sends RC to anyone, anywhere in the world.
• check_circle Earn RC from /jobs, /quests, selling items at /sell, trading on the auction house (/ah) and the rewards listed in /rewards. Physical Relic Coins also turn up in loot chests.
• check_circle Put a price on someone's head with /bounty.
• check_circle Dying costs 1% of your balance (the death tax), except in kit duels, where it is refunded.
• check_circle You can also buy RC and ranks on the store.

exploreGetting around

Travel commands have a short warm-up. Move or take damage and they cancel.

• check_circle /sethome and /home: three homes are free, and you can unlock up to ten with RC.
• check_circle /tpa <player> asks to teleport to someone, /tpahere asks them to come to you. 5-second warm-up, 2-minute cooldown.
• check_circle /rtp takes you somewhere random and safe: 50 uses each, 5-minute cooldown.
• check_circle /bp opens your backpack, and your ender chest is double size.

groupsTeams, factions and land

Play alone or build a crew.

• check_circle /team: up to five players. Leaving within 24 hours of joining makes you a traitor for 24 hours (weaker, and your location is shown to everyone).
• check_circle /faction: up to twenty-five players, costs 100,000 RC to create, and factions can go to war against each other.
• check_circle Builders claim land one chunk at a time with /claim create. Everything the builder places in that chunk is protected: nobody else can break it, open its doors or chests, or blow it up. Natural ground in the chunk stays open to mine.

shieldPvP and combat

PvP is on everywhere outside claims. Fight smart.

• check_circle Hitting or being hit tags you for 30 seconds. While tagged you cannot teleport, fly with an elytra or firework-boost, and logging out counts as dying.
• check_circle Ender pearls have a 10-second cooldown and maces a 45-second cooldown after a hit. Mace enchantments go up to level III. End crystals stack to 16. Thorns is disabled.
• check_circle Combat levels: 5 kills gives permanent Speed I, 10 halves hunger loss and 15 gives Resistance I at low health. Dying costs one level.
• check_circle Your place on the PvP ladder is shown with /points.

sports_kabaddiDuels

Settle it one on one in a real arena, away from the main world.

• check_circle /duel <player> opens the kit menu. Pick a kit and they get a challenge to accept with /duel accept.
• check_circle Kits: Money SMP, Netherite, Crystal, Cart, Pots, UHC, Elytra Mace, Spear Mace, Sword and the special Boat PvP.
• check_circle Kit duels are free. You lose nothing: no items, no RC and no levels, and your own inventory comes back after the fight.
• check_circle Own Gear duels are for real: you fight with your own items and the loser drops everything to the winner.
• check_circle There are over twenty arenas, and Elytra Mace and Spear Mace always get one of the big ones. Every arena is rebuilt after each fight.
• check_circle /duel leave forfeits, and /spectate duel lets anyone watch a fight.

micVoice chat and community

Talk to the players around you.

• check_circle Java: install the Simple Voice Chat mod and proximity voice works on its own.
• check_circle Bedrock: open relicsmpng.com/voice on your device while you play to join voice from your browser.
• check_circle Events, giveaways and announcements happen in our Discord. That is also where you ask staff for help.
